Using Owlsplit
By creating an account or using Owlsplit, you agree to these terms. You must be at least [age] to use it.
What Owlsplit does
Owlsplit helps groups record shared expenses and work out who owes whom. It is a record-keeping tool. It doesn't hold, send or receive money, and it isn't a bank, payment service or financial adviser. Any money you pay or receive is between you and the other person.
Your account
Give accurate details, keep your password safe, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
Your content
What you enter stays yours. You allow us to store and display it as needed to run the service, including showing it to other members of your groups. Check that you're comfortable with who is in a group before adding information, and share invite links only with people you trust.
Acceptable use
- Don't break the law or use Owlsplit to defraud or harass anyone.
- Don't try to access accounts or groups that aren't yours.
- Don't disrupt the service or try to overload it.
Accuracy
We work to calculate balances correctly, but results depend on what people enter, and scanned receipts can be misread. Check amounts before you pay or settle.
Availability
Owlsplit is an early-stage service, provided free of charge and "as is". It may be interrupted, change or end, and data loss is possible, so keep your own copy of anything important. [Owner to review.]
